Flamenco is commonly associated with the Andalucian gypsies. It applies to the guitarra (body of music), cante (song) and baile (dance) linked to these particular travelers. While they did not invent flamenco, they did play a part in its development.

Flamenco dancing is more than technical mastery. Its ultimate power comes from improvisation, or a dancer’s spontaneous expression of the moment’s emotions.

The most difficult part of flamenco is mastering the rhythm. It’s only when it comes automatically that the dance form can be absorbed.
