DanceSpeak

DanceSpeak, a dance performance choreographed by Dida Mallik and including Guna and Weijun, will form part of a charity event in aid of the Iraqi Peopleโ€™s Humanitarian Assistance Fund. There will also be an art exhibition that will run for two weeks starting 7 May 2003.

Involving as it does, performers from diverse backgrounds, cultures, faiths and dance genres, DanceSpeak is meant to embody the beauty of solidarity, the need for unity and the glory of harmony.

Dida Mallik
Trained in Malay classical dance and an exponent of Balinese dance. She has traveled extensively abroad.

Guna
Founder and artistic director of Khazana Stage Creations; an exponent of Indian classical dance forms (Bharata Natyam and Odissi) and contemporary dance. He too has toured and performed extensively abroad.

Weijun
Artiste-in-residence at Sutra Dance Theatre and last seen in Re: Lady White Snake by RiverGrass Dance Theatre
