Salsa is a popular form of Latin dance. Beginning in New York in the 30s, it steadily absorbed influences from different Latin music styles and afro jazz.
The modern salsa now incorporates elements of dance styles and music from Columbia, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Latin New York and Miami.
