Waltzes Of The World

The Dance Society of Malaysia is holding a charity dinner and dance to raise funds. This is to enable it to continue its work in supporting and promoting local ballet talent, and providing a platform for performances by talented dancers. To date the society has organised yearly ballet competitions, several Festivals of Dance and a full-length ballet entitled The Slave Princess.

Waltzes of the World is a dinner and dance event to be held in the Shangri-la Hotel Ballroom and will feature Viennese Waltzes to music by Johann Strauss, waltzes from ballet classics by students from various ballet schools, operatic music on the piano and a jewellery show cum auction by Juita Gems.

Intimate Rhapsody

Mavin Khoo will give a Bharata Natyam performance in aid of the PUSAKA centre for the study and documentation of traditional dance, drama and music in Malaysia.

The Magic Of Terinai

An evening of 5 dances from the TERINAI (court dance of Perlis – rarely seen in Kuala Lumpur) will be performed by students of the Akademi Seni Kebangsaan under the direction of the renowned Dr. Chandrabanu.
