Global Dance 2002 – Aesthetics of Diversity

There are two parts to Global Dance 2002.

The first part, 23 – 29 August, is the World Dance Alliance Festival, which will comprise performances, workshops and conferences. Held in Dusseldorf, the festival will offer audiences a truly global perspective, not only through invited artists and dance experts from diverse cultural regions, but by also incorporating different aesthetic value systems. The festival aims to present the ever-changing perspective of contemporary dance.

The second part of Global Dance 2002, 28 – 31 August, will be the International Dance Fair (Internationale Tanzmesse NRW). 1000 sqm of exhibition space will be used by exhibitors such as companies, dancers, choreographers, organisations, schools and institutions, scholars, festival directors, cultural commissioners, arts administrators and so forth from places as diverse as Austria, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, France, Israel, Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, Russia, USA and many, many more.

(Of note – Malaysia’s own Kuala Lumpur Dance Theatre, directed by Mrs. Lee Lee Lan, will perform in the festival)
